The Work of the Holy
Spirit
John 16:5-16
Now
I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, 'Where are you
going?' Because I have said these things, you are filled with grief.
But
I tell you the truth:
It is for your good
that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come
to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes,
he will
convict the world of guilt in regard to sin
and righteousness and judgment: in regard to sin, because men do
not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am
going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and in regard
to judgment, because the
prince of this world now stands condemned.
I
have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.
But
when
he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide
you into all truth.
He will not speak on his own; he will
speak only what he hears,
and he will tell you what is yet to come.
He
will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known
to you. All that belongs
to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will
take from what is mine and make it known to you.
"In
a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you
will see me."
The Breath
of the Holy Father
John
5: 30-36
"I
can do nothing on My own initiative.
As I hear, I judge;
and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will,
but
the will of Him who sent Me. "If I alone testify about
Myself, My testimony is not true. "There is another who testifies
of Me, and I know that the testimony which He gives about
Me
is true. "You have sent to John, and he has testified to the
truth.
"But the testimony which I receive is not from man,
but
I say these things so that you may be saved. "He was the
lamp that was burning and was shining and you were willing to rejoice
for a while in his light.
"But the testimony which I have is
greater than the
testimony of John; for the works which
the Father has given Me to accomplish the very works that I do--
testify about Me, that the Father has sent Me.
Psalm 16:5-6
LORD , you have assigned me my portion and my
cup;
you have made my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant
places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
John 15:5
"I
am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him,
he
bears
much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing."
